Linux Mint 22 Visual Tour

The Linux Mint project is proud to announce the release of Linux Mint 22 “Wilma”, which is based on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Linux kernel 6.8 on July 25, 2024. Linux Mint 22 will be fully supported until 2029 and will bring many updated software, refinements, and new features to enhance the desktop experience significantly.
Here are the new features and improvements in Linux Mint 22:
- Includes the latest version of the Cinnamon desktop, v6.2.
- Introduces the Matrix web client as a replacement for Hexchat.
- Uses Pipewire as its default sound server.
- Based on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Linux kernel 6.8.
